Do you accept walk-ins?

Yes! However it depends on availability and how much time it takes to do your design. It’s encouraged to email your tattoo ideas beforehand so you don’t waste a trip to the studio.

How old do I have to be to get tattooed?

The youngest we accept at Jade and Dagger is 16 years old with parental consent. Your parent must come with you and provide ID to sign our consent form. They are welcome to sit in on your tattoo, but they are not required to stay if they don’t want to!

Do I have to leave a deposit when I book an appointment?

Yes, deposits are required in order to book an appointment. Deposits hold your appointment and are non-refundable, but they go towards the final cost of your appointment after your tattoo is finished.

What do you charge?

The rate of each artist vary, if you inquire when booking we will let you know the hourly rate. A general time estimate is also provided at the time of your booking; however, please keep in mind that tattoos may take longer or shorter depending on several factors such as your pain tolerance, the amount of time needed to stencil, any breaks taken, etc., so please budget in the case that your appointment goes over the estimated time.

How long will it take to do my design?

Different factors are taken into consideration when time estimates are generated. These factors include the size/location of your design, how detailed it is, whether there is shading or full black, your pain tolerance, the possibility you will need breaks, and other factors. With this in mind, time estimates will differ from person to person. If you have a specific budget in mind or other concerns around the length of time, it is best to sit down for a consultation with your artist.

What are flash designs and how do they work?

Flash designs are pre-drawn designs that artists come up with on their own. They are usually first come first serve and are not repeatable. Changes aren’t usually accepted to these designs and there are minimum requirements in terms of sizing and location. Leah currently has her available flash designs on a highlight tab in her Instagram profile, and she tries to update when designs are claimed as soon as possible. Check her designs out to see if your next tattoo is in there!

Can I use numbing cream?

Yes! Numbing cream is not provided at the studio, but you are welcome to use your own numbing creams before your appointment. Please keep in mind that everyone’s skin is different and could react differently to numbing creams. It’s hard to gauge how your skin will react until you try it, so please do your research on the creams you want to use and accept that it may affect your tattooing process and how long it takes to finish your tattoo.

What is your cancellation policy?

You can cancel your tattoo up to 48 hours before your appointment. If you cancel your appointment with too little notice or no-show your artist, your deposit will be forfeited, and you may have to pay another deposit in order to reschedule.

Can I bring a friend?

Space is limited so please try and limit yourself to one guest when possible. Guests are also allowed if you are a minor and the guest is your parents. One loophole to bringing multiple friends is if your friends are getting tattooed as well!

Do I need to wear a mask?

Since masks are no longer mandated, it is purely up to you whether you want to wear a mask or not. Leah will be wearing a mask due to the nature of her job, and if you choose not to wear a mask, please respect other clients’ choice if they do the opposite.

How can I pay for my tattoo?

At Jade and Dagger we accept debit card, credit card and cash. Please keep in mind that we do not keep a float at the studio if you decide to use cash.

How long will it take for my tattoo to heal?

Everyone is different, so healing times will vary as well! Generally, tattoos can take anywhere from 2-4 weeks to heal, and even longer in some cases. Take good care of your new tattoo while it is healing and it could speed up the process. If you have any concerns with healing please don’t hesitate to email the studio.

What is parking like?

There is plenty of street parking around the studio, but these can range anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours. If your tattoo appointment is estimated to take longer, there are paid parking lots you can use in the area. Please arrive a little earlier in order to find suitable parking or consider arranging a ride to and from the studio.
